Sports Executive Producer
role at

is responsible for the overall direction, tenor, and style of sports department coverage for WMAQ and WSNS. This position requires a journalism background with experience in a sports newsroom, extreme attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a deadline‑oriented environment.
Base Pay Range $125,000 - $150,000 per year
Responsibilities
Work with talent & producers to develop their skills and improve coverage.
Coordinate with news department leadership on major breaking sports news/events and how coverage will be handled.
Provide constant feedback as well as official mid‑year and year‑end reviews.
Oversee the sports department budget.
Approve all travel.
Lead planning for long‑term NBC events/projects such as NASCAR & Marathon.
Collaborate across departments to integrate network initiatives smoothly.
Qualifications
Minimum 4 years of journalism and/or production experience.
Skilled writer with outstanding communication skills.
Self‑starter, capable of working independently.
Ability to work nights and weekend hours.
BS/BA degree preferably in journalism, communications, or marketing.
Desired Characteristics
Excellent attention to detail and copy‑editing skills.
Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
Ability to learn custom content management systems.
Experience in broadcast newsrooms, local news or other news areas is a big plus.
