Studio Engineer – support hardware and software for studio, post‑production and live studio pipelines.

Base Pay

$88.00/hr – $98.00/hr

Schedule & Location

  • Monday – Friday, 10:00 am – 7:00 pm PST
  • On‑site, Santa Monica, CA – 5 days per week

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical support for live & post‑production audio/video signal flows, protocols, codecs and workflows.
  • Experience supporting modern production asset management (PAM/MAM) systems.
  • Experience with large‑scale SAN environments for high‑throughput media workflows.
  • Knowledge of Ethernet, Brocade Fibre‑Channel, DLC networking for SAN connectivity and data integrity.
  • Can‑do attitude, collaborative, problem‑solving in high‑demand, fast‑paced environments.
  • Open to flexible schedule, including weekends and off‑hours as needed.
  • Self‑starter able to manage tasks and projects with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on‑demand support to production and post‑production teams.
  • Work with cinema cameras, lenses, signal paths, robotics, lights, and control systems.
  • Maintain advanced PAM pipeline automation, fibre‑channel SAN storage & networking.
  • Operate software on macOS, Windows, and Linux platforms.
  • Coordinate with third‑party vendors for studio upgrades and equipment repair.
  • Prioritize out‑of‑band requests to ensure smooth studio operation.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Education & Experience

  • BA/BS or equivalent preferred; relevant field experience acceptable.
  • Maintenance and repair of studio broadcast equipment – switchers, cameras, routers, live audio consoles, wireless mics, lighting consoles, fibre‑backs, displays, fiber, Ethernet, SMPTE411.
  • Proficiency administering and troubleshooting macOS, Linux, and Windows.
  • Experience supporting high‑performance SAN storage for media pipelines highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with structured content metadata for workflow automation preferred.
  • AutoCAD skills for technical drawings highly preferred.
  • Capability to construct and install video, audio, Ethernet, fibre and control cabling.
