Principal Desktop UI Software Engineer (Qt/QML)

Youll work within a collaborative engineering environment where creativity and technical excellence drive meaningful patient impact. This position is based onsite in the Greater Boston area, with a hybrid structure (minimum of four days onsite per week) that encourages direct collaboration, mentorship, and crossfunctional engagement.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 7 years of relevant experience
- OR Masters degree with 5 years of relevant experience
- OR PhD with 3 years relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise working in Python/ C++ environments, ideally with ROS or devicelevel comms
- Strong experience in desktop UI development (e.g. Qt/QML, PyQt, Open GL, unity, GTK, WPF, or similar)
- Experience building realtime or datarich interfaces for technical or clinical applications
- Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent problemsolving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges
- Experience with software version control systems, such as Git
- Experience working with UI designers and implementing UI designed in Figma or similar
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Experience with cloudbased platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure)
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices, including automated testing and deployment
- Experience working in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including UI designers and medical professionals to gather requirements and translate them into compelling user experiences.
- Develop and maintain highquality, scalable, and maintainable code using Qt, Python, and QML on a Linux operating system.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, including hardware engineers, product design engineers, software test, reliability, and leadership to define software requirements and deliver highquality solutions.
- Mentor and guide less experienced software team members, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Apply best practices in software development to maintain highquality code.
- Attend and participate in preclinical invivo system evaluations.
- Participate in laboratory demonstrations for internal stakeholders and clinicians.
