Senior Design Project Manager

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Design Project Manager to join our talented team near Chicago, Illinois, to provide leadership on assigned projects and drive financial, schedule, and client relationship objectives.
Responsibilities
Hold primary responsibility for the achievement of scope, cost, schedule, and quality objectives on assigned projects.
Ensure achievement of corporate goals for assigned projects.
Attend pre‑bid meetings with clients and prepare proposals in conjunction with department heads, directors, and other key individuals.
Independently develop design budgets.
Manage client interaction on assigned projects and promote positive relationships.
Identify risks to the project and corporation and work with Project Executives and the Director of Operations to mitigate risks.
Lead project teams of own or led by others to a successful conclusion.
Coordinate with the project discipline lead to determine scope, complexity, and planning and scheduling requirements of projects.
Develop and maintain meeting minutes and action items/needs list for each project.
Prepare internal monthly financial/schedule reports for the Director of Operations and monthly reports for the client as requested.
Manage all sub‑consultants on the project.
Assist in identifying and developing innovative methods for improving project management processes and techniques against current SOPs.
Provide mentorship to all developing individuals within the project management group and the design disciplines.
Qualifications & Requirements
10+ years of industry experience in Project Management.
Project Management Institute (PMP) certification preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or planning.
A minimum of 5 years of Pharmaceutical/GMP project experience.
Skilled in the use of IT tools, including spreadsheets, word processing, planning, and scheduling software.
Understanding of Earned Value and other project control methods.
Physical Demands
Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods.
Must possess the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.
Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Must be able to climb ladders as necessary.
Travel
This position will require 5‑20% travel or as required by the assigned project.
Position may be assigned to client site for an extended period.
Overnight travel or staying in the city of the client’s location is possible depending on the assignment.

Position will visit client sites and must adhere to stated safety rules.
Must have access to reliable transportation and the ability to travel and commute on a daily or routine basis.

This position is a safety‑sensitive position.
The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other non‑administrative areas.
