magazine, the city’s leading media publishing brand for sixty-five years, is looking for an accomplished sales professional to join our growing portfolio of publications, digital initiatives and events division. As we enter the magazine’s 65th Anniversary and launch new initiatives, we need sales executives well versed in print, digital and event sponsorship. The business of magazine media has changed dramatically over the past decade and Atlanta magazine has led the way in diversifying our business to better engage with our audience and to best serve our advertising clients. We offer a broad range of marketing solutions to include print, digital and experiential opportunities. The magazine also operates a full, in-house digital marketing agency versed in SEO, SEM, Google Display Advertising, Paid Social Media, OOH, streaming and much more. While 3-5 years of media‑specific sales is preferred, we are also open to someone starting their career in sales and will provide the training and tools necessary to succeed. More importantly, we are looking for characteristics that cannot be taught such as a winning attitude, tireless work ethic, determination, accountability, drive and competitive spirit.
Requirements
Ownership and accountability for an annual sales revenue goal across print, digital & events and other ancillaries.
Work diligently to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals.
A tireless prospector for new business.
A great communicator with excellent written and verbal skills and relationship builder.
A hunter and not a farmer.
Able to command a room with a convincing and articulate presentation.
Must be comfortable with cold calling and new business outreach including drop‑ins and telephone work.
Sells from a consultative point of view with the best interest of the prospect/client in mind.
Focused on building long‑term professional relationships that benefit the business.
Must have a high energy level, positive attitude and always look at the glass as half full.
Adapt to a changing business environment.
Able to work under pressure of a constant deadline and must be goal focused.
Proficient in technology including Microsoft Office, AI tools applicable to selling, and social media and networking tools such as LinkedIn.
Be digitally focused and well‑versed on all forms of digital marketing and advertising as this world is changing daily.
Must be detail oriented and very organized.
Must serve the internal customer such as production, digital, business office and events/marketing – understand the power of please and thank you.
Must be flexible and able to maintain multiple projects and goals simultaneously.
Take ownership of your business and never make excuses.
Must work well with others and in a team environment while also being very disciplined to work alone on a daily basis.
Must be proactive in communicating to management and those who rely/depend on you on a daily basis.
Must be professional and ethical at all times and treat others with respect.
