Pay Range: $28.50 - $36.71 per hour (based on New Jersey).

The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview Polysomnographic Technologist works under the general supervision of the Medical Director and the Administrative Director of Pulmonary & Sleep services to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders and can provide oversight of other sleep center staff.

Qualifications Required:

High School diploma or equivalent

At least one-year experience as a sleep technologist

Preferred:

Qualification to obtain or possession of the CCSH - Certification in Clinical Sleep Health

Certifications and Licenses

Current New Jersey State License as a Polysomnographic Technologist and/or Respiratory Therapist

Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Scheduling Requirements

Shift working, three nights a week 6:30pm-7am

Rotating shifts and weekends

Full‑Time (FT)

Essential Functions

Comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control issues

Perform routine equipment care and maintenance and inventory evaluation

Follow HIPAA and privacy policies

Respond to sleep patients procedural‑related inquiries by providing appropriate education utilizing sleep center specific protocols

Adhere to sleep center policies and procedures

Comply with professional standards of conduct

Assist the medical director, clinical director and/or manager in all aspects of sleep center operations

Performs sleep studies for pediatric patients, starting at 18 months and older, adult, and geriatric patients

Demonstrates proper placement of leads and wires with 10-20 setup

Maintains, operates, and troubleshoots all sleep equipment, as well as pulse oximetry, transcutaneous monitoring, end‑tidal CO₂ monitoring, and CPAP, BIPAP devices during the acquisition of the sleep study

Titrates CPAP/BIPAP according to AASM guidelines

Documents technician notes every half hour

Scores sleep study according to AASM guidelines

Responds to patient requests for information

Completes all charges

Coordinates dictation, transcription, final report, archiving, filing, and mailing process for sleep studies

Maintains inventory control

Completes yearly CME requirements

Participates in Performance Improvement

Achieves inter‑scoring reliability equal or greater than 85 percent

Performs clerical work as needed, including scheduling, insurance authorization, calling patients to follow‑up
