Survey Cad Technician
We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Survey Cad Technicians (Designers) to support our heavy civil construction teams, playing a critical role in supporting survey operations and infrastructure development across key projects in the following states: CO, MT, WY, ND, SD, IA, MN, NE, KS, MO, MS, TN and KY. Working within ProjectWise, AutoCAD, and Trimble Business Center, you will perform essential calculations for survey requests and 3D machine control, ensuring precision and accuracy in field layouts. Your responsibilities include maintaining files for utility locations, potholes, and as-builts, and design layouts, and verifying designer CAD files against Plan PDFs to ensure alignment and quality. Your work directly supports strategic infrastructure initiatives that enhance AI data center capacity, energy reliability, and community resilience. In New Mexico, our construction teams are expanding data center capabilities, building new electric distribution centers, and the first natural gas power station in Mississippi, as well as supporting roadway and bridge construction, and power plant projects across multiple states. Within Kiewit, we have many districts that support different portions of our business and operate in certain regions of the United States. For this role, reporting into the Central District, we operates in the central and south-central regions of the United States. We build heavy civil and transportation projects, including highways, airports, mass transit systems, canals, dams and tunnels, as well as support site development for industrial projects like data centers, water treatment facilities and power. We are looking for Survey Cad Technicians to support projects around Central US, which could include: CO, MT, WY, ND, SD, IA, MN, NM, NE, KS, MO, MS, TN and KY. Must be willing to travel to project sites as needed and visit our district office in Lone Tree Colorado occasionally for training and meetings. When assigned to a project site, we provide per diem and trips home. Responsibilities: Previous land/construction survey or engineering experience a plus Proficiency in CAD is required (at least one, all 3 is a plus) o Trimble Business Center o MicroStation o AutoCAD Civil 3D Ability to read and interpret construction plans to generate o Field Layout (lines and points) o Estimates (takeoff for all disciplines) o 3D models (surfaces, corridors, and structures) Knowledge of field Survey procedures and equipment o Assist in remote support of

Machine Control Able to train in person or remote in CAD and survey equipment (DCs/Machines) o Survey crews o Engineers o Estimators Must have solid written and verbal communication skills o Clear communication for remote support o Interact daily with o Estimators o Project management o Survey crews o Operations crews Qualifications: 3 years' experience in Construction Survey, Dimensional Control, Industrial Measurement, or a related field is required, performing related CAD tech functions as outlined above Must be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to perform calculations (area, volume, circumference, proportion, percentage) Dynamic thinker with the desire to lead, motivate and mentor teams Self-starter with the ability to set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality and productivity Proficient computer knowledge including Microsoft Suite Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong work ethic with the ability to work individually and as a team; Committed to working safe and getting the job done right the first time Must be willing to work 50-60 hours per week, along with weekends. (We do pay overtime) Valid driver's license and ability to travel regionally; Accustomed to Outdoor fieldwork in varied terrain and weather conditions Willing to travel as necessary to projects. We provide per diem and trips home, when long durations. Base Compensation: $73,000/yr - $76,000/yr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
