VP of Marketing One River School of Art + Design

Founded in 2012 “one river” west of New York City, One River School is on a mission to “transform art education” in America. With 15 schools across six states and national expansion ahead, we offer innovative programs that make learning contemporary art and design fun and accessible for all ages.

Position Summary The VP of Marketing serves as a senior leader and creative strategist, driving One River School’s brand visibility, enrollment growth, and storytelling. Reporting to the CEO, this individual will lead all national and local marketing initiatives across digital, print, social, and experiential channels - building campaigns that inspire new students to join while deepening loyalty among current members.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and creative executor - someone who can balance data-driven decision-making with artistic sensibility and an instinct for powerful storytelling. This is a key leadership role in shaping One River’s evolution into a national, technology-forward, and culturally influential brand.

Responsibilities Brand Strategy and Growth

Drive the development of brand strategy initiatives in collaboration with the leadership team

Develop and execute local and national marketing plans that drive enrollment, awareness, and retention across multiple customer segments (Kids, Teens, Adults)

Oversee integrated advertising campaigns (Google, Meta, Streaming, Print and Events)

Manage the marketing budget, media buys, and creative production calendar

Communications and Content

Oversee all content creation across web, social, video, and email, ensuring a unified brand voice and compelling storytelling

Develop brand campaigns that tell the story of how One River School is “transforming art education”

Lead a social media and community engagement strategy to grow organic reach and elevate One River’s role as a thought leader in art education

Collaborate with PR partners on media, events, and influencer relationships

Oversee website, SEO, CRM, and digital communications to ensure a seamless user experience and strong conversion funnel

Data, Analytics, and Performance

Build a culture of data-driven marketing; analyze results to continuously improve campaigns and test new formats

Create dashboards and KPI reporting for enrollment, lead generation, and ROI

Use insights to refine pricing, promotions, loyalty programs, and membership offers

Team Leadership and Collaboration

Lead and mentor a small, high-performing marketing team and external creative partners

Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, education, technology, and franchise development teams

Act as brand ambassador across all schools and ensure marketing excellence and alignment at every level

Qualifications

8+ years of marketing leadership experience, preferably in multi-unit retail, member-based businesses, for-profit education, or lifestyle brands

Experience managing creative production and brand storytelling

Proven success in developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that drive measurable growth

Strong understanding of digital advertising, SEO / SEM, and social media ecosystems

Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills

Creative thinker with analytical rigor

Proficiency with Google Ads, Meta Business Suite, CRM systems, and Adobe Creative Suite

Passionate about visual arts and art education
