Overview
Live sports is a major growth vertical for Prime Video. We're acquiring the biggest and best events like NFL Thursday Night Football, NBA, NASCAR, Premier League and Champions League for our customers and building new experiences to change the way people watch live sports. We are looking for a Data Engineering Manager to help us build scalable analytics solutions for our fast growing business. Lead a team of Data Engineers, BIEs, and TPMs that develop the end-to-end automation of data pipelines, making PV Sport’s datasets readily-consumable by BI tools and notification systems. Establish and clearly communicate organizational vision, goals and success measures. Collaborate with stakeholders on priorities and build, own, and deliver a roadmap of large and complex multi-functional projects. Administer AWS analytic infrastructure and redesign architecture to enable and optimize for AI capabilities. Partner with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources, including analysis of non-standard and unique business problems requiring creative problem solving to deliver actionable output. Own the design, development, and maintenance of metrics, reports, dashboards, and related outputs to drive key business decisions. Team and Mission
The Prime Video Sports Ops Data Analytics (PV-SODA) team’s core mission is to help partners make decisions and measure performance across domains from content pipelines and service operations to customer journeys and product experiences. We work with product management, engineering, content acquisition, operations, and senior leadership to improve services, launch new sports entertainment content and experiences, grow the business, and delight customers. It’s still early days at Prime Video Sports and we are building a strong foundation for growth to come. Locations
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Seattle, WA; Los Angeles, CA; Austin, TX; Arlington, VA; NYC, NY. Qualifications
8+ years of data engineering experience. Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines. Experience working with databases and SQL. Experience managing analytics, data science or technology teams, with a product or insight focus. Experience leading and influencing the data or BI strategy of your team or organization. Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS. Experience hiring, developing, and managing high-performing technical teams. Experience with big data technologies such as AWS, Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive, etc. Experience with AWS tools and technologies (Redshift, S3, EC2). Knowledge of fundamentals of networking, security, databases (relational or NoSQL), operating systems (Unix, Linux, and/or Windows). Experience leading large-scale, technical or engineering programs with a proven record of thought leadership, business case development, realizing customer benefits, and successful program completion. Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring other engineers for best practices on data engineering. 6+ years of working with Data & AI related technologies, including AI/ML, GenAI, Analytics, Database, and/or Storage experience. Experience in building analytic or scientific data products or solutions. Experience communicating clearly and concisely with leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $182,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $314,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Depending on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
