Here’s the Gist: This opportunity is for an experienced leader to oversee the PVD, CVD, and Etch engineering teams at Wolfspeed’s Mohawk Valley Fab located in Utica, New York. The Director of PVD, CVD, and Etch Engineering holds a vital leadership role in overseeing multiple critical processes, ensuring that deposition and etching techniques are executed efficiently, effectively, and in alignment with production goals. This position is also responsible for driving improvements in quality, managing costs, and ensuring timely delivery of products to meet customer expectations.
The Day-to-Day:
Lead and mentor a team of managers, supervisors, engineers, and technicians specializing in PVD, CVD, and Etch technologies, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Inspire, motivate, and guide teams to achieve strategic goals while cultivating a positive work environment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Research and Development, Quality Assurance, Product Integration, and Manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration of processes and equipment.
Establish and maintain quality control processes and metrics to monitor the performance of all processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve yield.
Participate in strategic planning to align PVD, CVD, and Etch processes with the fab’s long-term goals, identifying areas for future growth and development.
Work collaboratively with research and development teams to transition new process technologies from development into manufacturing with both quality and speed.
This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):
BS in Chemical or Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Material Science or other relevant Physical Science
Minimum of 10 years of Engineering Management experience in a high-volume production Semiconductor Fab.
Proven track record developing the leadership and technical competencies of a team
Solid understanding of multiple process competencies including PVD, CVD, and Etch.
Experience demonstrating and driving process improvement through structured problem solving (5 Why, 8D) and statistical control methodologies
This role may require additional duties and/or assignments as designated by management.
