Your impact: Jacobs is seeking to strengthen its leadership team in the Americas to expand our complex bridges market and to be the engineer of choice for our clients. As our

Global Principal – Complex Bridges Design Build , you will play a key role in positioning our bridge teams to win major projects across the Americas and lead significant and complex bridge projects. Your responsibilities will include market development and serving as a senior Project Manager or Design Manager on select high‑profile, challenging projects. Bring your passion for bridges, leadership, agility, service delivery, and commitment to excellence, and together we will impact the movement of goods and services across the Americas.

Key Responsibilities

Drive the positioning and winning of complex bridge work across the Americas with an emphasis on Design Build projects.

Lead wider market development efforts to grow our complex bridges market.

Serve as a senior Project Manager or Design Manager on significant and complex bridge projects.

Identify, understand, adapt and shape market trends and potential growth opportunities in Design Build, and wider complex bridges market.

Leverage domain expertise, technologies and best practices and global solutions to differentiate our offering to clients.

Serve as the face of the company to clients and in the marketplace with regular direct engagement.

Drive and foster an innovation culture.

Be a recognized thought leader in the marketplace.

Demonstrate the requisite leadership attributes needed to be a national solutions provider capable of addressing our clients most complex problems.

Ensure success of technologist development through the Technologist Career Path in Complex Bridges.

The final candidate can work out of any Jacobs U.S. office including but not limited to New York, New York; Boston, Massachusetts; Morristown, New Jersey; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Baltimore, Maryland; Washington DC; Reston, Virginia; Tampa, Florida; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Miami, Florida; Dallas, Texas; Atlanta, Georgia; Chicago, Illinois; St. Louis, Missouri; Indianapolis, Indiana; Mendota Heights, Minnesota; Las Vegas, Nevada; Seattle, Washington; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Los Angeles, California; San Francisco, California; and Tempe, Arizona.

Experience and Qualifications

Substantial experience in the design and construction on a variety of complex and long‑span bridges including major river crossings.

Experience working on Design Build bridge projects.

Licensed Professional Engineer in multiple states; Structural Engineer (SE) licensing is preferred.

Established professional network with transportation clients and contractor community.

Proven Track Record

Market development through strong strategy execution and national client relationships, including Owners and Contractors.

Forming impactful strategic teaming partnerships.

Developing technical innovations and delivering successful bids of major bridge pursuits in collaboration with operations and sales teams.

Determining and countering competitor strategies.

Substantial experience with Design/Build, Progressive Design/Build, P3 and CM/GC project delivery.

Cutting‑edge knowledge in a wide variety of bridge erection techniques.

Proven track record in designing economical, durable, and complex bridges.

Passionate about leading, mentoring people, and working collaboratively.

The base salary range for this position is $350,000.00 – $400,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
