About Scanner
Companies should be able to ask any question of any real-world data set, even massive ones, and get an answer effectively instantly. That's the future we're building. We're starting with security teams, who face this problem most acutely: searching massive log volumes to detect threats, investigate incidents, and hunt for compromised systems. We're expanding to infrastructure teams, DevOps, and SREs with similar challenges across observability data and system logs. Ultimately, any team dealing with large-scale data should have instant answers. Scanner is a Security Data Lake that lets teams search and detect across petabytes of data in seconds, retain everything forever, and maintain full custody of their data. Ramp, Notion, Postman, and Benchling use Scanner to analyze security logs faster, and on more data, than ever before. Our customers span fintech, healthtech, AI, and banking. At conferences like AWS re:Invent, we run 30+ demos over four days. The market is pulling. We're also the Security Data Lake built for AI. More than a quarter of our customers have built agents on Scanner since we launched MCP support weeks ago, for automated investigation, detection engineering, and alert triage. Traditional systems are too slow and expensive for AI to iterate on. Scanner isn't. We're 11 full-time, seed-funded by CRV, and growing fast. You'll join a high-trust team where your work shapes our story, pipeline, and revenue trajectory. The Role
Own the end-to-end marketing engine: narrative, website, case studies, product launches and campaigns, events and field marketing, and sales enablement—while building genuine, trusted relationships with security teams and customers. You won't be alone. Our CEO, Head of Product, and Head of Ops work hands-on with marketing: writing content, planning events, and shipping campaigns alongside you. You'll lead the function, but this is a team sport. What you own
Product positioning and messaging architecture, translating it into clear narratives across the website, blog, decks, campaigns, and customer-facing assets. Lead content production: one-pagers, case studies and customer stories, landing/solution pages, launch and campaign copy, customer newsletters, and non-technical blog posts. Drive executive and social storytelling, including LinkedIn/X ghostwriting for founders and key leaders to amplify product narratives and launches. Support event and field marketing, our most important demand-gen channel, by owning how Scanner shows up before, during, and after events. Partner with our sales and operations teams to define messaging, content, and follow-up so every conference, dinner, or meetup feels consistent and high-impact. Goal: Scanner is everywhere our buyers go. Own sales enablement: build and maintain decks, objection-handling guides, and competitive battlecards that get used in live deals and improve win rates and sales-cycle times. Lead ongoing market, persona, and competitive work: persona research and ICP refinement, competitive analysis/mapping, and community engagement. What you bring
5+ years of experience marketing security, infrastructure, or technical B2B products. Hands-on, senior IC mentality. You personally own positioning, narratives, launches, and pipeline-impacting assets rather than optimizing for team-building. Fluent across core GTM levers: product positioning, content production, field events, sales enablement, digital campaigns, and competitive insights. Able to connect them into a cohesive demand-gen strategy. Proven track record in events and field marketing. You've helped run booths, organize dinners/private events or coordinated roadshows, and can point to pipeline generated from these programs. Sales-first view: you build collateral that actually gets used and measure enablement by win-rate and sales cycle impact. Bias to ship: rapid testing, clean reporting, and tight stakeholder communication. Ability to work directly with founders to shape GTM strategy and execute experiments from concept through launch. Why you'll love working here
"Be wrong" is a value.
Experimentation over perfectionism. We try things, learn fast, and iterate. We genuinely like our customers.
We're in Slack with them daily. They shape the product, and we enjoy making their lives easier. "Surprise and delight" isn't a slogan here, it's how we operate. We take care of each other.
Small team, no politics, people who actually want to see you succeed. Real ownership, real speed.
You own marketing end-to-end. 11-person company. Your ideas ship in days, not quarters. Competitive salary, meaningful equity, and comprehensive benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, commuter). Hybrid/remote-friendly with regular in-person collaboration in San Francisco.
