About the Role
Ernesta is looking for an experienced full‑time Sales and Design Consultant (Design Assistant) to join the Retail team in our showroom in Dallas, TX. You will help build an enjoyable, frictionless, industry‑defining rug buying experience. This role has two main responsibilities: advising customers on rug selection, materials, and spatial planning; and championing customers by delighting them and handling inquiries, concerns, and order‑related matters.
What You’ll Do
- Set the industry standard for customer experience and sales.
- Drive sales through customer followup and outreach.
- Deliver exceptional design and product expertise.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and on‑brand showroom.
- Provide high‑quality, personalized experiences through in‑person, chat, text, email, video, and phone.
- Advise customers on floor‑plan layout, material selection, and custom rug measurements.
- Respond to inquiries and resolve order‑related matters such as tracking, product questions, and delivery logistics.
- Surprise and delight customers, exceed expectations, and create memorable experiences.
- Learn innovative technologies (CAD modeling, Adobe, 3D rendering, etc.) to visualize space.
- Maintain feedback loops to improve internal processes.
Qualifications Include
- 2+ years in a consumer‑facing role with direct sales/account management experience.
- Passionate about interior design and home décor; up to date on current trends.
- Excellent communication, building trust, self‑motivated, curious, empathetic, great listener.
- Solutions‑oriented with sound judgment, business sense, high integrity.
- Proficiency with online tools: 2D/3D, Zoom, Google Suite, etc.
- Strong time‑management, organizational skills and accountability.
- Ability to establish and improve processes; excited about feedback loops.
- Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
Nice to Have
- Experience with design tools and spatial planning.
- Bachelor’s degree or experience in interior design, art history, architecture, or related creative field.

The anticipated starting base pay for this role is between $20 and $30 per hour. This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated pay range for this role. Actual base pay depends on experience, education, and skills.
