This opportunity entails being part of the leadership team responsible for the design oversight of the I‑24 Choice Lanes Project, a $5 billion Public‑Private‑Partnership (P3) that will design, construct, finance, operate and maintain two new Choice Lanes in each direction along an approximate 26‑mile corridor of I‑24. In this role you will coordinate with the selected Developer on the design of an assigned section(s) of the overall project and oversee the General Engineering Consultant (GEC) assigned to complete over‑the‑shoulder reviews and technical evaluations of Developer submittals, to ensure compliance with the agreement and project‑specific technical requirements. Working with other project team members you will monitor the submittal schedule to ensure reviews are completed on time and the reviews provide the appropriate level of scrutiny related to the contractual requirements. The position will also provide technical leadership and direction to HNTB staff in right‑of‑way acquisition, railroad coordination, utility coordination, and environmental compliance and permitting. What You’ll Do
Develop the project scope and fee quotation and assist in the preparation of technical proposals and contracts in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA). Lead or actively participate in client contract scoping and negotiations. Serve as the primary client liaison and manage the project team to deliver the scope, schedule, and budgets to completion and to the client’s satisfaction. Perform technical discipline tasks including analysis, reports, design, specification, and production for assigned projects. Implement the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) and lead the development and execution of the project management plan. Supervise and mentor team to overall project objectives. Oversee project staffing, including recruitment, development, retention, and succession of project staff, and support performance and compensation reviews. Partner with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to assist with business development, building client relationships, and pursuit efforts for mini‑mega and mega projects in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA). Perform other duties as assigned. What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 10 years of relevant experience. 2 years of successful management of engineering projects. What You’ll Bring
Winning experience in contracting and delivering 4for4 (on‑time, on‑budget, quality, client satisfaction) on multi‑disciplined projects. Experience leading a team inside and outside HNTB using sub‑consultants. Proficiency with system tools to manage, monitor, and deliver the project. Ability to interface with the client and other project stakeholders. Experience developing successors to work with the same client on future projects. What We Prefer
Master’s degree in Engineering. 12 years of relevant experience. Professional Engineer (PE) certification. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Additional Information
