Role Overview We are looking for a Technical Writing Lead with deep expertise in IT documentation and proven leadership skills. This role combines hands‑on technical writing with team leadership, process governance, and cross‑functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will drive documentation strategy, mentor a team of writers, and ensure high‑quality deliverables that support onboarding, training, and organizational knowledge transfer.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technical writers to build a cohesive, high‑performing unit.

Balance team workload and ensure alignment with project milestones and timelines.

Drive toward the big picture while managing detailed deliverables.

Collaborate across multiple teams to align documentation needs and outcomes.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels for clarity on deliverables and expectations.

Establish and reinforce processes for quality review and accuracy standards in documentation.

Integrate governance requirements to ensure sustainability and compliance of documentation practices.

Oversee documentation strategies that support onboarding, training, and upskilling across the organization.

Maintain hands‑on involvement in technical writing tasks as needed.

Requirements

Proven experience in technical writing within the IT domain, with the ability to understand enterprise systems.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong communication skills: ability to ask probing questions professionally, clear written and verbal communication, confident yet diplomatic when pressing for information.

Ability to set and maintain priorities, adapt to changing needs, and work independently.

Strong multitasking skills and flexibility to meet project demands.

Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and Copilot (or equivalent tools).

Knowledge of process mapping and workflow visualization.

Experience with version control practices.

Collaborative mindset with openness to feedback and change.

Proven leadership experience in managing and mentoring technical writing teams.

Ability to build team cohesion and foster collaboration.

Strong organizational skills to balance priorities and drive toward milestones and timelines.

Expertise in cross‑team collaboration to align diverse needs and outcomes.

Advanced communication skills for engaging multiple levels of project stakeholders.

Deep understanding of how documentation supports organizational learning and development.

Experience establishing governance and quality review processes for documentation.

AI proficiency: demonstrated experience with effective prompting, iterative refinement, and output validation.

Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications

Familiarity with enterprise‑level onboarding and training strategies.

Knowledge of regulatory requirements in IT environments.

Proficiency in collaboration tools such as Confluence, SharePoint, and advanced documentation platforms.

Background in learning design and knowledge transfer methodologies.
