Interns will have the opportunity to gain real-world experience throughout a full sports season, with a primary focus on social media within a professional sports organization. This role offers hands-on exposure to live events and digital marketing while working collaboratively with team members at all levels of the Marketing department. Interns will gain a comprehensive understanding of the annual Marketing Plan and how social media supports broader marketing initiatives, while actively contributing ideas, content, and support toward the plan's overall success. The Marketing Intern will begin March 16, 2026, and will conclude on September 25, 2026, following the end of the Reno Aces regular season. Hours
This intern is encouraged to be present for two (2) Reno Aces games per homestand (approx. 8 hours) and 3 days in the office (approx. 12 hours). Flexibility is available for academic schedules. College Credit/Compensation
The internship may be eligible to earn college credit. Internship is unpaid and is not entitled to a paid job at the end of the internship. - Participate in the planning, scheduling, and publishing captivating content across all team social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, Threads)
- Learn best practices of live event coverage by capturing in-game and behind-the-scenes content during home games, practices, and community events
- Support fan engagement efforts by monitoring comments, messages, and interactions, gaining exposure to community management strategies
- Contribute creative ideas for short-form video, trending content, and fan engagement initiatives in alignment with current social media trends
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of marketing plans, their developmental processes, and the strategic decision-making behind content creation
- Learn how to maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across multiple platform
- Assist with organizing, tagging, and managing digital assets such as photos, videos and graphics, gaining experience with content workflows and asset management
- Acquire practical hands-on experience creating and publishing social media content in a live sports environment
- Understand how social media performance is measured through key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting metrics
- Apply creative brainstorming and trend analysis to develop engaging fan-focused content
- Develop practical knowledge of website backends, specifically WordPress and Forge
- Master the art of maintaining a consistent brand voice across various platforms
- Sharpen skills in video editing and production
