Head of Business Development – Publisher & Affiliate Partnerships (Remote)
Join Puffy, one of the top 5 mattress brands in the US, to drive revenue through premium editorial placements and strategic affiliate relationships. This role builds and scales performance‑driven partnerships while maintaining a 3:1 ROAS constraint.
Base Pay Range
USD $100,000 – $130,000 per annum + up to 30 % performance bonus (Total Annual Package up to $167,800).
Location

Role Overview
You will become a true industry architect by building a revenue engine centered on high‑value partnerships with tier‑1 publishers and affiliate networks. Responsibilities include:
- Identify, negotiate, and structure deals with premium publishers such as Forbes, CNET, Sleep Foundation, and Wirecutter/NYT that generate measurable revenue.
- Optimize attribution models and continually refine campaigns using EPC, ROAS, and conversion data.
- Scale partnership portfolios to compound value quarter over quarter.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align partnership strategy with product, marketing, and sales goals.
- Maintain rigorous performance metrics and report on partnership impact.
Qualifications
Core Requirements
- 5+ years’ business development or partnership management experience in B2C/D2C e‑commerce.
- Proven track record recruiting and activating publisher partnerships with measurable revenue outcomes.
- Experience securing editorial placements with tier‑1 publishers (Forbes, CNET, major review sites).
- Performance marketing mindset: deep understanding of EPC, ROAS, CPA, attribution, and data‑driven optimization.
Technical Capabilities
- Proficiency in affiliate tracking and partnership management platforms (Impact, Partnerize, or similar).
- Experience with competitive intelligence tools (BrandVerity, Similarweb, Ahrefs, or Visual Ping).
- Strong analytical skills: financial modeling, ROI projections, multi‑touch conversion analysis.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with a win‑win partnership focus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
Operational Excellence
- Self‑starter with an entrepreneurial approach, thriving in fast‑paced, high‑growth environments.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and making data‑driven decisions with incomplete information.
- Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple partnership tracks simultaneously.
Good‑to‑Have Skills
- Background running or optimizing paid acquisition campaigns.
- Startup or scale‑up experience, comfortable with lean operations and rapid pivots.
- International partnership experience.
- Publisher/editorial background: understanding of editorial calendars and newsroom dynamics.
