Social Media and Marketing Specialist – Zeno Power Join our communications team in a high‑impact, high‑independence role where you will shape Zeno’s digital voice and drive real‑time conversations about space, energy, and deep tech. This position requires in‑office presence in Washington, D.C. (Mt. Vernon/Chinatown) on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional remote work on Monday and Friday.

Responsibilities Content Strategy & Execution

Develop and execute the end‑to‑end social strategy for the Zeno brand on X and LinkedIn, positioning Zeno as a leading voice in nuclear innovation.

Produce high‑quality, engaging content—including graphics, short‑form copy, and simple visual assets—that translate complex technical ideas into accessible narratives.

Work directly with the in‑house production team to strategically drop video and photo content for maximum reach.

Community Engagement & Growth

Handle day‑to‑day posting and real‑time audience engagement, including live commentary and participation in breaking industry conversations on X.

Proactively monitor conversations around space, energy, and defense to engage authentically and identify trends for reactive content opportunities.

Own social analytics—use platform data to test, iterate, and prove ROI, ensuring measurable results without busy work.

Executive Thought Leadership Management

Craft high‑impact, authentic narratives for our leadership on social platforms such as X and LinkedIn.

Mine content from speeches, interviews, and presentations to generate original insights for executive posts.

Develop a consistent publishing cadence to establish executives as key thought leaders across space, maritime, energy, and defense sectors.

Manage the content review and approval process to ensure rapid, compliant publishing.

Monitor industry news and competitor activity to surface relevant engagement and commentary opportunities.

Influencer & Partnership Strategy

Identify, vet, and build relationships with relevant social media influencers, subject matter experts, and key opinion leaders in aerospace, maritime, defense, and deep‑tech communities.

Develop collaboration strategies to expand Zeno’s reach beyond our immediate network.

Marketing Campaign Support

Partner with the Communications Manager to amplify product launches, partnerships, events, and executive thought leadership.

Support the production and distribution of the company’s email newsletter, including content development, list management, and analytics.

Assist basic website content updates and collaborate on SEO initiatives to increase organic visibility.

Key Qualifications and Skills

3+ years of proven, high‑impact social media execution (or equivalent experience in a rapid‑growth startup).

Expertise on X and LinkedIn: algorithm, audience dynamics, tone, and culture to drive engagement and growth.

Experience in executive or personal brand ghostwriting and management is highly preferred.

Innate understanding of internet language, current trends, and the balance between cleverness and professionalism.

Mastery of Canva/Photoshop to create clean graphics or visual assets in minutes.

Ability to translate complex technical topics into compelling stories for diverse audiences.

Exceptional writing and visual storytelling skills with a sharp eye for detail and brand consistency.

Comfortable with startup speed and the autonomy it requires; demonstrate effective time management and results delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing both corporate brand accounts and multiple executive profiles.

Track record of influencer/KOL strategy execution in B2B, tech, or specialized industries.

Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot) and CMS.

Basic understanding of SEO principles and keyword research.

Job Functions

In‑office presence in Washington, D.C. (Mt. Vernon/Chinatown) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays; remote work optional on Mondays and Fridays.

Travel required.

Motor abilities: sitting, standing, bending, stooping, grasping; fine motor control of hands.

Physical exertion: minimal, with ability to safely lift up to 15 pounds.

Repetitive work: prolonged.

Special senses: visual and audio focused work.

Work conditions: stairs, typing/keyboard, standard and/or sitting environment >8 hrs/day.

Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $65,000 – $95,000, based on experience and qualifications.
