Job Summary
The Brand Manager & Content Creator role is an integral part of the Brand team, entrusted with executing our communications across all channels. The starting salary range for this role is $78,436-$85,256. This is a full-time, occasional flexibility role based at KIPP DC Headquarters with an anticipated start date of February 2026.

About the Role The Brand Manager & Content Creator drives the creation and delivery of impactful content that enhances KIPP DC’s brand identity and audience engagement. Working closely with the Marketing and Communications team, you’ll focus on storytelling, copywriting, photography, videography, and social media management, centralizing the organization’s messaging and visual presence across all channels.
Location and Type of Work This is an exempt position and will report to the Director of Marketing. The role is headquartered at KIPP DC Headquarters and is designed to be responsive to our schools’ in‑person needs, providing onsite support to school teams, partnering with other headquarters teams, and working in multiple locations. While the position offers occasional flexibility, onsite presence is required 4 days per week.

Content Planning & Development (30%)
Develops and executes a comprehensive content strategy to align with KIPP DC's mission, values, and organizational goals.
Leads the creation and management of the editorial calendar, ensuring timely and consistent communication across all platforms.
Measures and reports on content performance, using data‑driven insights to refine strategies and enhance engagement.
Brand Management & Creative Production (40%)
Ensures alignment of all content with KIPP DC’s brand identity, maintaining a cohesive and impactful visual and written presence.
Develops key messaging that communicates KIPP DC’s value proposition to diverse audiences, including families, staff, and community partners.
Oversees the production of marketing assets, adhering to brand guidelines and organizational priorities.
Leads initiatives in copywriting, photography, and videography to produce high‑quality, compelling content across multiple channels.
Supports crisis communication efforts, crafting timely and effective responses to protect and enhance KIPP DC’s reputation.
Oversees creative projects, ensuring adherence to deadlines, feedback processes, and quality standards.
Audience Engagement (20%)
Manages KIPP DC’s social media channels, including content creation, scheduling, and audience interaction to foster community and drive engagement.
Collaborates with internal teams to identify and share human‑centered stories that inspire and resonate with stakeholders.
Engages with audiences directly, ensuring responsiveness to inquiries and alignment with community needs.
Collaboration & Leadership (10%)
Partners with school leaders and stakeholders to align content and campaigns with organizational priorities.
Provides feedback and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Represents KIPP DC at events, engaging with external partners and showcasing the organization’s mission and impact.
Requirements & Preferences Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in communications, marketing, content creation, or a related field.
Proven expertise in content strategy, copywriting, and social media management.
Proficiency in digital marketing platforms, design software, and content management systems (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or WordPress).
Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in an educational or mission‑driven organization.
Familiarity with video production and editing tools, such as Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro.
Knowledge of marketing analytics tools, such as Google Analytics or social media insights, to inform and improve strategies.
Demonstrated ability to lead crisis communications and handle media relations effectively.
Previous experience in brand management, with a focus on storytelling and human‑centered campaigns.
Physical Requirements
Ability to travel between KIPP DC’s campuses and attend evening or weekend events as needed.
Capacity to work in an on‑site environment, with occasional flexibility for remote work based on organizational needs.
Ability to lift and transport lightweight equipment (e.g., camera gear, promotional materials) for events or photoshoots, if necessary.
