We are seeking a highly skilled leader to provide strategic and operational leadership for Health Affairs Publishing, LLC.
Reporting and Management
Reports to the Executive Committee and Project HOPE Chief Executive Officer. Direct reports include Editor-in-Chief, Finance Director, Executive Publisher, Executive Editor, Director of Health Equity, and Senior Director Marketing and Digital.
Key Objectives and Principal Responsibilities
Strategic Alignment & Compliance – Ensure alignment of publishing initiatives with Project HOPE mission and regulatory standards.
Financial Sustainability & Management – Oversee revenue planning and financial performance within the tax‑exempt context.
Editorial & Publishing Oversight – Lead editorial strategy and program execution for Health Affairs.
Marketing & External Communications – Develop and execute marketing initiatives to broaden reach and impact.
Essential Skills and Experience
Seven or more years of senior management experience, preferably with nonprofit organizations.
Ten or more years of management experience leading successful teams.
Experience managing multi‑million‑dollar organizations, especially in healthcare, communications, or publishing.
Expertise in publishing, communications, and relationship development with funders and donors.
Proven fundraising, public relations, marketing, and development record.
Strong knowledge of nonprofit leadership and board collaboration.
Entrepreneurial mindset with innovative business‑planning capability.
Passion for Health Affairs Publishing and Project HOPE, with integrity and cultural sensitivity.
Graduate degree preferred; fields include business administration, nonprofit management, publishing, health policy, public health, journalism, or law.
