The social team at Marcom finds new and inspiring ways for the Apple brand and products to show up across social media channels. We partner with brand, advertising and creative teams to develop world-class social marketing ideas that people are happy to see in their feeds. This role will report up to the head of social strategy.

Description The Senior Social Strategist, Editorial will shape and lead the social strategy for a new Instagram presence, showcasing the best of Apple’s design, news, products, and impact in the world. They’ll work closely with a cross-functional editorial team to create ongoing content meant to attract and engage an audience in social.

Responsibilities

Mining social for cultural insights around our brand and products

Investigating topics around the company for potential stories

Briefing and working with creative teams to create content for Instagram

Providing expertise on Instagram formats, behaviors, features and trends

Conveying strong perspective on what makes great social video

Growing and nurturing a community of fans

Identifying clear metrics of success on Instagram and learning from them

Minimum Qualifications

10+ years experience in social creative strategy.

Deep understanding of social platforms, their evolving formats, and audience engagement dynamics.

Fluency in identifying social culture, creators, and communities for engagement.

Editorial social experience shaping comprehensive strategy for always-on social presences and consistent brand voice.

Creative or social agency/brand/publisher experience, evidenced by a portfolio of top-tier work.

Track-record of collaboration in large, cross-functional teams, particularly with creatives and producers.

Knowledge of social best practices, and curiosity to break them.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in publishing, journalism, or related fields, with a narrative focus.

Sharp perspective on what makes effective and culturally resonant socially-driven creative work.

Ability to radically simplify complex information.

Familiarity with social analytics, translating metrics into creative insights.

Passion for Instagram, understanding its evolving trends and community dynamics.

Collaborative by nature, with experience thriving in fast-paced, newsroom-style team environments.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $182,600 and $274,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
