About the Team

The Safety Product (or Platform Responsibility) team is at the forefront of building and optimizing content safety systems. With a focus on optimizing and advancing content safety, we leverage advanced large language models to enhance review efficiency, risk control, and user trust. Working closely with business and technical stakeholders, we deliver scalable solutions that keep pace with rapid global growth.

The Inspection team primarily focuses on preventing large-scale content risks on the platform caused by gaps in systematic moderation capabilities, including trends and escalations, as well as ensuring timely responses to such incidents. Additionally, the team owns endtoend oversight of Violent Behavior, Dangerous Actors, and Mental Health issues, which are common sources of escalations on the platform.

This role is focused on defining and improving the information environment on TikTok. You will work as a product manager to reduce the prevalence of problematic content and ensure a positive enduser experience across your areas, including misinformation, hate speech, extremism, AIGC safety, and civic integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive metrics that reflect enduser goals.
  • Own ideation, prioritization, and execution for your area of TikTok Integrity & Authenticity, driving feature sets endtoend, including design, build, test, launch, and postlaunch.
  • Lead crossfunctional project teams, building synergy and influence across multiple departments, globally.
  • Identify critical problems and opportunities in content safety domains, leveraging AIdriven detection models and MLpowered content moderation to develop dedicated product solutions.
  • Participate in trend response and apply various content strategies. Build infrastructure and capabilities within the Inspection team to enhance our systemlevel abilities for exploring and managing trends more effectively.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager (or possessing the will to rapidly build this experience through your dedication).
  • Strong sense of logic and excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Evidencebased, analytical, datainformed. (You like to use data to help identify problems, find opportunities, and drive continuous product improvement.)
  • Can clearly describe your vision, planning and executional challenges and lead coordination with other teams to cosolve problems in depth.
  • Can quickly learn and master fundamental trend governance methods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning.
  • Proven working knowledge in Trust & Safety.
  • Passion about social media platforms, and proven record of a creative mindset.

Job Information

For Pay Transparency The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $149,040 $311,600 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidates qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units. Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, shortterm and longterm disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure). The Company reserves the right to modify or change these benefits programs at any time, with or without notice.
