SUMMARY Brooklyn Basketball brings the Brooklyn Nets and New York Liberty together to establish a community-first basketball experience. Our goal is to grow the game of basketball through professionally led clinics and camps, community-focused events, instructional videos, unique basketball content and skills & additional programming. The Director, Marketing - Brooklyn Basketball, will work to drive awareness, enrollment, and educate the marketplace on our programs for boys' and girls' basketball players ages 6-17. The role will be deeply embedded with the Brooklyn Basketball team, working to support its evolution into a world-class youth sports brand, by conceiving marketing strategy, overseeing consumer activations, crafting go-to-market campaigns and cultivating grassroots relationships. The Director will develop marketing campaigns for and support the consumer experience within a new, state-of-the-art basketball facility, the Brooklyn Basketball Training Center, located across the street from Barclays Center. The individual will serve as an internal champion within Marketing, educating the broader team on business goals, strategies & tactics, while project leading key initiatives. This role will require close collaboration with the Brooklyn Basketball, Community Relations, Social Impact, Consumer Technology, Data, Insights & Analytics, and Partnerships departments. Brand Strategy: Craft brand strategy/positioning that lays the foundation to support business goals, grow brand affinity in the marketplace and educate around the value proposition
Conceive and execute holistic marketing plans across channels inclusive of digital, social media, paid media, in-venue and experiential touchpoints
Business Planning & Product Development: Provide thought partnership for Brooklyn Basketball leadership to guide product strategy and optimize programming for target audiences
Customer Acquisition & Journeys: Work closely with the Data, Analytics & Insights and Lifecycle Marketing teams to nurture and scale the database, with the goal of developing long-term customer relationships
Community Engagement & Grassroots Marketing: Build connections with the local community and leverage grassroots marketing tactics to drive awareness, word-of-mouth and participation
Activations & Experiential Marketing: Develop unique touchpoints for Brooklyn Basketball to come to life at games & events, increasing visibility and affinity with target audiences
Digital, Content & Creators: Collaborate with the Consumer Tech & Content teams to leverage digital platforms, social media and talent relationships to drive engagement and amplify reach
Nets & Liberty Integration: Partner closely with leadership for the Nets and Liberty to create opportunities to build credibility, effectively cross-market and elevate consumer touchpoints
Ticketing & Partnerships Collaboration: Collaborate with Ticketing & Partnerships to create commercial opportunities such as Group Sales packages, ticket bundles and partner platforms
Marketing Intelligence: Establish goals/KPIs, set up reporting infrastructure, measure performance, provide analysis to key stakeholders and leverage data to inform decisions
Fiscal Planning & Budget Management: Oversee the marketing budget, ensure efficient allocation of resources, while creating a year-round approach and calendar to maximize ROI
Stakeholder Management: Oversee relationships with BSE stakeholders and external collaborators including vendors, community partners and youth organizations
8+ years of experience in Marketing with brands and/or agencies
~ Strong background in marketing strategy, digital marketing, and/or grassroots marketing
~ A history of crafting successful marketing campaigns that deliver against business goals
~ An understanding of customer acquisition, conversion and retention marketing principles
~ An entrepreneurial spirit and track record having scaled brands
~ Experience working in youth sports and/or with youth focused products is a major plus
~ A network of relationships that will unlock opportunities for the Brooklyn Basketball business
~ A passion for growing the game of basketball and making a community impact
Proficient communicator, capable of effectively leading projects, meetings and presentations

COMPENSATION $120,000 - $150,000 Full-time employees are eligible for a robust slate of total rewards, including:

~ WORK ENVIRONMENT Works primarily in an office environment. You will be expected to attend games and other events on evenings, weekends and holidays.
