The Division of Public Relations and Marketing Communications (PRMC) at Georgia State University is hiring a Senior Design Coordinator at its downtown Atlanta location.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:
The Senior Design Coordinator drives the creative execution of major university marketing and communications initiatives and contributes to the visual direction of the university. This role ensures consistent and elevated brand experience across print, digital, environmental, and presentation platforms.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Creative Direction & Design
Art directs and designs major university publications, periodicals, advertising campaigns, promotional pieces, direct mail, signage, digital assets and marketing initiatives.
Designs sophisticated, brand-aligned work across print, digital, environmental and experiential touchpoints
Creates high-impact PowerPoint and digital presentations with advanced visual storytelling techniques and strong data visualization.
Provides photography direction for shoots and collaborates closely with multimedia partners to ensure cohesive execution across media.
Demonstrates exceptional accuracy in layout, typography and production preparation, ensuring error-free deliverables.
Project & Vendor Management
Works closely with photographers, illustrators, editors, writers and other designers to deliver cohesive creative solutions.
Communicates with production vendors; assists project coordinator with printing and fabrication quotes; oversees proofs and participates in press checks.
Proficiency in environmental graphic production, including large-format printing, signage materials and color consistency across mediums.
Brand Stewardship & Identity Management
Maintains and advances the university's visual identity standards across all communications.
Enforces brand consistency with tact and partnership, balancing creative needs with institutional expectations.
Advises campus partners and external vendors on brand usage, typographic systems and licensing/trademark considerations.
Contributes to the evolution and expansion of the university's brand system, including refreshed creative assets and templates.
Monitors brand accuracy across all touchpoints with consistent, detail-oriented evaluation.
Template & Platform Support
Develops branded templates for the university's online design system to support campus-wide marketing needs.
Trains users on brand-aligned template usage and best practices for layout, typography and visual hierarchy.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Requirements:
Advanced Adobe Creative Cloud skills (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) andexpert-level PowerPoint design and animation skills.
Advanced typography expertise: hierarchy, readability, typographic systems and variable type usage.
Demonstrated success collaborating across departments and managing client relationships with diplomacy and clarity.
Experience creating and managing brand identity systems.
Familiarity with experiential design and environmental installations (murals, signage, campus graphics).
Strong organizational and project management abilities with excellent communication and presentation skills.
Proven ability to produce highly accurate, detail-driven work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
Five or more years of professional design and art direction experience preferred.
