Save Job

We are an applied AI lab building end-to-end software agents.

We're the makers of Devin, the first AI software engineer, and Windsurf, the AI-native IDE. Together, they represent our vision for collaborative AI teammates that enable engineers to focus on more interesting problems and empower teams to strive for more ambitious goals.

Our team is small and talent-dense. Among our founding team, we have world‑class competitive programmers, former founders, and leaders from companies at the cutting edge of AI including Scale AI, Palantir, Cursor, Waymo, Tesla, Lunchclub, Modal, Google DeepMind, and Nuro.

Building Devin and Windsurf is just the first step—our hardest challenges still lie ahead. If you’re excited to solve some of the world’s biggest problems and build AI that can reason on real‑world tasks, apply to join us.

The Role

You’ll create the core materials that explain what AI software engineering makes possible, and why Cognition is the company enterprises should trust to deliver it.

Think of this role as something like a journalist embedded at the front lines of a major technological transformation—one reshaping not just startups, but some of the largest and most sophisticated enterprises in the world. Your job is to understand what’s actually happening and make it legible.

This is a hands‑on creation role. You’ll spend the majority of your time writing, structuring decks, making videos, and shipping artifacts. Your work will reach CIOs and CTOs at Fortune 500 companies, and will be used in closed‑door convenings, executive briefings, enterprise sales cycles, and product launches.

The range is wide: thought leadership for executive audiences, sales materials that help close deals, product launch content that connects new capabilities to real customer problems, and customer stories told at different altitudes—from business outcomes for the C‑suite to tactical narratives for engineering leaders.

You’ll report to the Head of Product Marketing and collaborate closely with sales and company leadership.

The role has a strong research component—you’ll need to deeply understand customer use cases, technological details, and how these systems are deployed in practice. You should be genuinely interested in technology, its organizational impact, and the details of how these systems are built and rolled out.

You should have:

Exceptional writing ability, which ultimately stems from clear thinking

Curiosity about technology, and the ability to stay on top of a fast‑changing landscape

Research mindset; you want to deeply understand customers’ lives and problems

Intellectual agility to handle the technical and organizational complexity of large enterprises in a rapidly evolving market

Obsessiveness about quality

Willingness to work hard and extreme ownership mindset

You must have:

Experience writing about how technology drives real‑world outcomes (in finance, product, journalism, policy, marketing, or similar)

Experience in intense, high‑performance environments (in top tech companies, finance, political campaigns, sports, etc.)

Demonstrated ability to learn rapidly

We are open to candidates with a wide range of experiences.
