Piping Designer

As a Piping Designer, you will be responsible for designing medium to complex mechanical and piping systems under minimal supervision. You will utilize both 2D and 3D design tools to prepare drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated instructions, adhering to established design practices, standards, and procedures. Your expertise will contribute to developing piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs), general arrangement drawings (GA), equipment plans, piping orthographic, and isometric drawings. Responsibilities: Design mechanical and piping systems using 2D and 3D design tools. Develop piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs), general arrangement drawings (GA), equipment plans, and piping orthographic and isometric drawings. Understand and implement the engineer's design development process. Review and ensure accuracy of mechanical supplier documents. Coordinate mechanical/piping design activities with other discipline groups. Essential Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk Plant 3D, and piping design. 10+ years of experience in industrial piping design. Knowledge of energy systems, steam equipment, and gas compressors. Ability to physically route pipes and design pipe supports. Understanding of pressurized air, condensate, and BOP systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Associate degree in piping design or equivalent demonstrated experience. Experience with power generation and plant systems. Experience with HDPE or U/G piping. Experience in tapping air and water headers. Work Environment: The work environment offers flexibility with a hybrid arrangement of in-office and remote work. Typically, employees are expected to be in the office three core days a week from Tuesday to Thursday, although some may choose to work one to two days on-site. There is a focus on maintaining a work-life balance with a standard 40-hour workweek, where any overtime is compensated at 1.5 times the regular rate. The position provides opportunities for career advancement into supervisory roles. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of Mount Laurel, NJ. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $62.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
