Role Overview
The L1 + AV Technician will provide dispatch support for desktops, audio-visual systems, basic network/infra checks, and conference room operations. The technician will perform troubleshooting, coordinate with remote teams and vendors, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations across the site. This role includes dispatch support depending on location needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L1 Audio-Visual (AV) support for conference rooms (device checks, resets, room readiness).
- Troubleshoot desktops and laptops (break/fix, replacements, warranty coordination).
- Support Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) and managed meeting room devices.
- Perform basic network and infrastructure checks (LAN ports, cabling, patch panels, power verification).
- Assist with printers (toner replacement, basic hardware issues).
- Provide smart-hands support under guidance from central IT.
- Coordinate with remote IT teams and third-party vendors when required.
- Support hardware from Microsoft, Lenovo, HP, Dell, and Apple.
- Maintain clear communication and follow SOPs, ticketing, and escalation processes.
- Be available for dispatch response within 4–8 business hours.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting equipment and working at height (ladder/lift).
Must-Have Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in IT and AV support.
- Hands-on experience with AV hardware and meeting room technologies.
- Basic understanding of:
- Networking & TCP/IP
- Fiber & copper cabling
- Network infrastructure fundamentals
- Experience with Extron, Crestron, Crestron Fusion, and managed Teams Room devices.
- Ability to explain and troubleshoot different connection types (home/corporate).
- Strong customer service, communication, and documentation skills.
- CompTIA A+ certification (required for dispatch).
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira).
- Exposure to AV-over-IP environments.
- OEM or vendor certifications.
- Prior experience in enterprise onsite environments.
