This position supports the Parts, Service & Technical Division in achieving its business objectives to enhance Fixed-First-Visit rates. The role involves developing effective technical training content, documents and materials based on market studies and needs analyses. Through clear and well-structured training content, this position educates Honda/Acura dealership personnels, primarily technicians, various topics, including vehicle systems, emerging technologies, and diagnostic procedures, ensuring a higher level of technical proficiency and service accuracy in the field. Technical Instructional Designer Details: Contract to Hire position $ 42.00 to $ 43.50 / hour First Shift 40% - Complete development and maintenance of online self-study modules 30% - Complete development and maintenance of training center skill modules 15% - Complete market studies and needs analyses, identify action plans to improve performance metrics 15% - Complete assigned special projects Technical Instructional Designer Qualifications: ASE certified in areas: A1-A8 required, L1 & L3 preferred 5-7 years of hands-on technical or mechanical experience in the automotive industry, with a strong understanding of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures. Experience with Honda and Acura products is highly preferred. Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree in Automotive Technology or a related field from an accredited technical institute, trade school, or equivalent program. Experience of Honda training and publications development process is a plus Strong ability to conduct on-vehicle repairs, diagnosis and technical evaluations. Proficient in using Honda Diagnostic System (i-HDS), Service Information System (SIS), and Interactive Network (iN). Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe software and general AI usages for documentation and content development.
