Location: Grand Rapids (Kendall) Department: KCAD Interior Design Advertised Salary: Starting at $4,330 per 3 credit course FLSA: Exempt Temporary/Continuing: Temporary Part-Time/Full-Time: Part-Time Union Group: Kendall Faculty Association (MEA-NEA) Term of Position: Less than 9 month At Will/Just Cause: Just Cause Summary of Position: Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University (KCAD) in Grand Rapids, MI prepares artists and designers to have impact through practice. Responsibilities for a KCAD adjunct faculty member include syllabus and class preparation, instruction during scheduled course time, providing reasonable availability to students for consultation and assistance with respect to assigned course(s), evaluation of student performance, submission of mid-term and final grades on the FSU Banner system, and archiving of both course material and student work as requested by the program chair and/or the Dean of Academic Affairs. The Interior Design Program seeks to cultivate interior designers who are engaged in innovative and creative human-centered solutions that contribute to the advancement of the profession. We are looking for a designer that can help us teach the next generation about the design process and to share the skills of the profession in the classroom. The program is seeking candidates for a broad range of interior design studio courses within an established curriculum. The teaching assignment is based upon skill, demonstrated competency, and depth of understanding of the design process and the profession. Courses are to be taught in person on KCADs campus in Grand Rapids, MI. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment.
