About the Role We are seeking a strategic and data-driven Head of Brand Marketing Science to lead our efforts in quantifying the impact of brand marketing investments. This critical role will be responsible for defining, executing, and reporting on the methodology used to measure brand health, marketing effectiveness, and the return on investment for all brand-building initiatives. This leader sits at the intersection of creative storytelling and data-driven results, providing actionable insights that guide high-level marketing strategy and budget allocation.

This role will also oversee a team of applied scientists and partner closely with Brand Marketing, Media, Finance, Product and Engineering.

What You’ll Do Brand Measurement & Modeling

Develop and champion a comprehensive, best-in-class framework for measuring brand marketing effectiveness across all channels (e.g., traditional media, digital, social, content, sponsorships)

Define key brand metrics (e.g., awareness, consideration, preference, affinity, purchase intent) and establish baselines, targets, and ongoing reporting mechanisms for brand health

Lead the integration of brand measurement data with performance marketing and business financial data to create a holistic view of marketing impact

Strategic Planning & Decision Support

Create and deliver regular, compelling reports and dashboards that clearly communicate brand performance, measurement findings, and ROI to executive leadership and cross-functional partners

Serve as the primary marketing science advisor for annual brand planning, investment allocation, and scenario forecasting

Partner closely with Finance and Media teams to ensure measurement outputs are directly linked to financial planning and budget forecasting

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Lead and mentor a high-performing team; attract and develop top analytics and research talent

Manage external research vendors, MMM partners, and brand tracking agencies

Work with Product and Engineering teams to ensure clean data pipelines, governance, and scalable analytics infrastructure

Basic Qualifications

10+ years of experience in marketing science, brand analytics, consumer insights, or a related field, with at least 3–5 years in leadership roles

Expertise in brand marketing measurement, media mix modeling, incrementality testing, and advanced statistical methods

Deep expertise in experimental design, causal inference, and statistical modeling

Strong proficiency in Python/R, and statistical tools; familiarity with big data technologies

Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into compelling, executive-ready storytelling

Proven track record influencing senior leaders and shaping cross-functional decisions

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or related)

Experience in a large-scale consumer app company

Familiarity with ad tech ecosystem, privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and modern attribution challenges

Strong grasp of survey methodology, behavioral research, and qualitative research approaches

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$270,000 per year - USD$300,000 per year.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$270,000 per year - USD$300,000 per year.
