Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a Lead Low Voltage Technician to take ownership of complex, high-end residential projects. This role is for someone who doesn’t just “install,” but leads, thinks ahead, and holds the bar on quality, cleanliness, and client experience.

If you need hand-holding, this isn’t the role.

If you take pride in flawless installs, clean racks, and systems that just work, keep reading.

Responsibilities

  • Lead installation and commissioning of high-end residential low-voltage systems, including:
    • Structured wiring & rack builds
    • Audio/video systems (distributed audio, home theaters, media rooms)
    • Networking (wired & wireless)
    • Lighting control & shading systems
    • Surveillance, access control, and automation systems
  • Read and execute from plans, schematics, and scopes of work
  • Manage job sites day-to-day: pacing, quality control, and task delegation
  • Ensure clean, organized, and labeled installations that meet company standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently
  • Coordinate with project managers, designers, electricians, and other trades
  • Interface professionally with homeowners, builders, and designers
  • Mentor and train junior technicians
  • Maintain tools, inventory awareness, and jobsite safety
  • Document work, changes, and punch lists accurately

Required Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years hands-on experience in residential low-voltage installations
  • 2+ years in a lead or senior technician role
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Networking fundamentals (VLANs, PoE, Wi-Fi best practices)
    • Audio/video signal flow
    • Rack building standards and cable management
  • Ability to troubleshoot independently — not “call for help immediately”
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift equipment, work on ladders, and handle physical job demands

Preferred (Not Required, But Strongly Valued)

  • Experience with systems such as:
    • Control systems (Savant, Crestron)
    • Lighting & shading platforms (Crestron, Lutron)
    • Network platforms (Ubiquiti, Ruckus, Cisco Meraki)
  • Manufacturer certifications
  • Experience working in luxury homes where discretion and polish matter
