Our client, a leader in the healthcare industry, has an outstanding contract Public Relations Consultant opportunity available to join their dynamic team! This is a hybrid role 1-2 days onsite in San Francisco, CA. We’re looking for a dynamic Public Relations Senior Consultant to help elevate the voice, visibility, and reputation of the company as we continue our transformation from a traditional dental benefits provider into a modern healthcare leader. In this high-impact role, you’ll support the Media Relations Team in shaping bold, strategic external communications that reach millions. From crafting compelling narratives to advising executive leaders, you’ll play a key role in amplifying our brand across national media, digital platforms, and influential stakeholder audiences. This is an opportunity to join a fast-moving, purpose-driven Media Relations Team that is redefining how oral health is understood, valued and integrated across the broader healthcare ecosystem.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelors degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field.
- Minimum 8+ years of public relations experience, with a strong track record of producing impactful content.
- PR agency experience required; experience working with healthcare, tech, or regulated industries is a plus.
- Strong understanding of industry best practices, emerging digital trends, and modern media tools.
- A collaborative team member with exceptional interpersonal skills and a solutions-oriented mindset
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and lead projects with minimal oversight.
- Strong relationship-building capabilities with internal partners, executives, and external media.
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellent storytelling.
- Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Experience using Cision, PR Newswire, and other media engagement platforms.
Daily Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic, high-profile PR initiatives that drive brand relevance and reputation.
- Create original, high-value editorial content for owned channels to spark meaningful engagement with key audiences.
- Draft press releases, talking points, briefing materials, and key messaging for major initiatives.
- Provide media strategy and support to C-suite on external visibility opportunities.
- Develop thought leadership content (LinkedIn, Forbes, and other platforms) to position spokespeople as influential voices in healthcare.
- Own day-to-day PR operations, ensuring seamless execution and timely delivery of key initiatives.
- Manage the editorial calendar to align with organizational priorities, news cycles, and strategic moments.
- Monitor and interpret media, social, and cultural trends to inform proactive storytelling opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to uncover powerful stories across the enterprise.
- Compile quarterly metrics and insights to demonstrate ROI and inform future PR strategy.
