Key Responsibilities
- Support and manage contested litigation matters involving First Amendment rights, defamation, libel, privacy, copyright infringement, and commercial media disputes from inception through trial and appeal
- Conduct pre‑publication reviews for major media organizations, providing rapid‑response legal counsel on defamation risks, newsgathering issues, and content clearance matters
- Engage in federal and state court proceedings including motion practice, discovery, depositions, oral arguments, and trial preparation in high‑stakes media litigation
- Handle arbitrations and alternative dispute resolution matters involving content disputes, licensing conflicts, and commercial media disagreements
- Conduct sophisticated legal research on evolving First Amendment jurisprudence, media law doctrines, and intellectual property issues affecting publishers and broadcasters
- Draft persuasive briefs, motions, and memoranda on complex constitutional and statutory issues involving freedom of speech, reporters' privilege, and content protection
- Manage discovery processes including document production, third‑party subpoenas, deposition preparation, and e‑discovery coordination in fast‑paced litigation
- Take and defend depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, experts, and media professionals in defamation, copyright, and commercial litigation matters
- Appear in court for motion arguments, status conferences, and hearings before federal and state judges
- Collaborate closely with partners and clients to develop case strategies, assess litigation risks, and provide proactive legal counsel to media organizations

Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA‑accredited law school with strong academic credentials
