Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Service Writer Assistant to join our automotive service team. This role is essential in supporting the service department by coordinating repairs, communicating with customers, and ensuring a seamless flow of vehicle maintenance operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong automotive background, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist the Service Writer in preparing accurate estimates for vehicle repairs and maintenance, including oil changes, tire services, alignments, suspension work, brake repairs, and transmission services.
- Support the documentation of vehicle issues using automotive diagnostics and mechanical knowledge to facilitate repairs.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding service recommendations, repair status, and additional upselling opportunities such as auto body repair or diesel engine repairs.
- Handle cash transactions and process payments accurately at the service counter.
- Coordinate with mechanics and technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs such as shocks & struts, air brakes, or auto body work.
- Maintain organized records of vehicle services performed and assist in managing auto estimating processes.
- Contribute to a positive customer experience by providing excellent customer service and ensuring clear communication between customers and the service team.
- Filing and keeping waiting area clean
Qualifications
- Previous Auto service experience.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair procedures including transmissions, oil changes, alignments, suspension work, tire services, brake repair, and diesel engine repairs.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics and mechanical systems such as shocks & struts, air brakes, and auto body repair.
- Experience with auto estimating software and sales techniques related to automobile sales or upselling services.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in service writing or automotive repair is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities efficiently. This position offers an opportunity to grow within a professional automotive environment while utilizing your technical knowledge and customer service expertise.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35, $37,550.00 per year
