About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you'll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Winchester, CA Details:
- In-Person Tutoring in Winchester, CA
- Schedule: 15 hours, 3 sessions a week for 1.25 hrs
- Pay range is between $25 and $35
- Credentialed teacher with strong experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at the secondary or postsecondary level
- Skilled in comprehension across multiple content areas, particularly reading-intensive courses (e.g., history, social studies, art history)
- Strong background in executive functioning support, including organization, time management, planning, and study skills
- Experienced in teaching writing, including organization, clarity, and academic conventions
- Comfortable using assistive technology and accommodation tools (e.g., extended time strategies, highlighting/note-taking supports)
- Able to use engaging, discussion-based (Socratic-style) instruction combined with visual supports and structured study guides
- Creative, patient, and encouraging, while maintaining academic rigor and high expectations
- Able to connect learning to the student's interests to increase motivation and engagement
- Support comprehension across multiple college-level content areas, including social studies and art history
- Assist with reading analysis, note-taking, and synthesizing information from dense academic texts
- Provide structured executive functioning support for organization, task initiation, planning, and test preparation
- Support writing development, including organizing ideas, refining written responses, and improving clarity and conventions
- Help the student prepare for exams using personalized study guides and structured review strategies
- Reinforce effective study habits and academic routines aligned with college expectations
- Maintain a supportive, structured, and engaging learning environment that reduces frustration and builds confidence
