Civil/Land Development CADD Designer – Edgewood Properties, Inc.
EP Design Services LLC (EPDS) is Edgewood’s multi‑disciplinary design firm providing architectural and engineering services.
EPDS provides superior design in creating memorable and viable environments.
We’re currently seeking a Civil/Land Development CADD Designer. The successful candidate will work full‑time in our creative office located in Piscataway, NJ.
Responsibilities Drafting of commercial/residential site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including but not limited to the following:
Geometry plan layouts
Utility plans & profiles
Grading & drainage plans, profiles and cross sections
Roadway plans, profiles & cross sections
Sketches and exhibits as needed
Use special notations and symbols to give instructions on drawings
Use GIS software to obtain required site images and incorporate into project drawings
Use 3rd party applications (Auto‑TURN, Photoshop, etc.) to generate drawings based on specific project requirements
NJDOT & NJDEP permitting plans
Work with Department Managers and Project Engineers to understand:
Scope of work
Schedule
Budget
Project instructions and responsibilities
Complete drawing/project responsibilities within scope, budget and schedule
Review drawings for completeness and compliance with the original design plan
Coordinate project requirements with team members and provide assistance when necessary to complete required tasks
Organize/maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files and project‑related information in logical & well‑structured manner based on instructions from engineers
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Associates degree or technical school certificate in Computer Aided Drafting/Design
Two plus years CADD experience in Civil Engineering, Land Development or related projects
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 or newer, including but not limited to the following:
Layer management & usage
Viewport management & usage
Drawing scales as they relate to text, dimensions, lines, viewports, etc.
Plotting, plot scales & pen tables, etc.
Strong ability to multi‑task.
Strong attention to detail, while maintaining consistent workflow.
Ability to work with minimal supervision & resolve issues independently as needed.
Ability to be a team player and interact well with others.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
