Senior Designer – Boys' Apparel Golden Touch

The Senior Designer will focus on our clients' retailers, moderate priced department stores and off‑price retailers (TJXX, Burlington, Ross). They will lead the design organization in developing seasonal products that drive growth while adhering to the brand’s DNA. The role manages product development from initial concept through production phases, continuously delivering and upholding the brand aesthetic while evolving with our client’s needs and industry trends. As a key liaison with Sales and Merchandising, the ideal candidate possesses strong technical design skills, a commercial eye, and excellent presentation, organizational, and management abilities.

Boys – infant, toddler + 4‑7; sportswear (daily casual play wear), layette, activewear and seasonal (swim + outerwear)

Responsibilities

Oversee the product and sample execution for each season.

Communicate with overseas offices daily to execute accurate and attractive sampling within required timelines.

Manage all account‑specific requirements.

Adhere to the production calendar and deadlines.

Consistently shop the marketplace, our competitive set, and for inspiration and product opportunities.

Plan the line according to style plans, client needs, and emerging trends.

Inspect samples and approve production.

Create tech packs, provide detailed construction comments, and produce flat sketches.

Stay informed and ahead of the competitive landscape, translate insights for the brand.

Partner with Design Directors, Merchandisers, and Sales to ensure that assortment reflects concept direction, SKU plan, and styling needs.

Work closely with the technical team to guide and correct fit samples.

Hold responsibility for all approvals, corrections, updates, and changes to all product.

Provide a positive and challenging work environment.

Qualifications

7+ years of related experience in Design and/or Product Development.

Solid background in working with merchandising to deliver trend‑based, commercially successful designs.

Vast knowledge of fabric and construction with a focus on children’s wear.

Exceptional design and product development skills; ability to manage from idea to execution.

Strong point of view and decision‑making capabilities.

Solid understanding of the marketplace and competitive landscape.

Ability to work in a collaborative, team‑oriented environment.

Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, and presentation.

Ability to multi‑task and work in a fast‑paced environment under pressure.

Extremely proficient using Adobe Illustrator; PLM experience is a plus.

Experience with a hands‑on approach (designing actual product).

Comfortable giving presentations to the Design Director.

Hybrid Work Schedule 4 days a week in the office, 1 day work from home.

Pay Rate $85,000 - $100,000 (New York).
