Availability and willingness for evening and weekend work. 40 hours per week onsite.

Position Purpose Reporting to the Director of Programming Initiatives, the Associate Producer manages project logistics and administration related to Hopkins Center arts programs. Plays a critical role in institutional artistic collaborations and developmental work, particularly with the Dartmouth Student Ensembles, and is a key participant in the Hop’s programming collaborative.

Responsibilities The Associate Producer serves in a critical role bridging the Center’s performing arts work with administrative support needed for programs and events to be fully realized. Responsibilities include:

Understanding, drafting and navigating contracts for artists, individuals and entities, both domestic and international.

Serving as a subject matter expert on organizational systems and databases to ensure accurate communication across departments.

Overseeing budgets, project management, and exercising aesthetic judgment to drive portfolio success.

Working closely with the Managing Director/Executive Producer on logistical support for Hop ensemble initiatives and tours.

Participating in goal setting, objectives, and assessment of programs for relevance and impact.

Hiring, training, and supervising student fellows; monitoring budgets and financial constraints.

Collaborating with Center directors and staff on fund expenditure and representing the Hop and the College externally when needed.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

2‑4 years of professional arts administration experience, or equivalent.

Significant experience in producing performances and event planning, management, contracting, budgeting, promotion, and execution.

Strong leadership skills with a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.

Strong organizational skills, ability to respond to pressures, deadlines, and changing priorities.

Proficiency with computer applications, including web‑based tools for communications.

Initiative, sound judgment, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Flexibility for frequent evening and weekend work.

Passion for the arts and commitment to joyful flexibility.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in higher education and the arts.

Experience using Airtable, Slack, Google Drive and other cloud‑based collaborative technology.

Familiarity with performance technical equipment.
