Senior Civil Designer – College Station, Texas Garver’s College Station Water Design Center is looking for a senior civil designer to develop and detail AutoCAD and Civil 3D models for our Water Business Line projects. The role requires collaboration with engineers, designers, and technicians to produce drawings and manage workload on various projects.

Responsibilities

Coordinate survey services and process field data.

Develop surface models, grading plans, profiles, and cross sections.

Create paving plans, yard piping plans, demolition plans, and other supporting designs.

Calculate dirt work volume and plan quantities.

Apply layering standards, line types, line widths, and plot styles.

Organize drawing structures and files; produce record drawings.

Primary responsibilities of the Civil Designer/Technician include:

Develop Civil 3D models with a great deal of autonomy.

Ensure quality program compliance and adhere to Garver standardization.

Develop civil standards and tools; procure, train, and support.

Work within a multi‑disciplined team of engineers, designers, and technicians.

Manage multiple projects concurrently; manage time and work product quality.

Mentor, equip, train, develop, and engage junior team members to grow effective design professionals.

Qualifications

10+ years of computer‑aided drafting and design experience with a civil engineering design team.

Experience using Autodesk software for detailed design, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Strong knowledge base of site development including grading, paving, drainage, and piping.

Experience with MS Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Strong communication skills (verbal and written).

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Skills

Experience with BIM360 file sharing software.

Experience using Bluebeam.

Experience using REVIT.

Associates degree in CAD or similar 2‑year degree.
