Reporting to: CAD Integration Manager
Your Role In The Mission Type One Energy is looking for an experienced Senior CAD Designer who will be responsible for CAD designs for our stellarator fusion technologies. The primary responsibility of the CAD Designer is to create computer aided modeling required to enable the design and fabrication of our fusion devices. You will work closely with Engineers and Scientists and be responsible for the following:
Translate mechanical design requirements into an integrated 3D configuration model.
Develop interfaces between and among stellarator systems and resolve any conflicts.
Develop accurate CAD models based on given specifications.
Convert CAD models into technical drawings for fabrication, accurate and concise callouts for fabrication specifications, and help coordinate the fabrication of components.
Excellent communication skills including verbal, presentation, and writing skills are required to enable effective interaction with technical peers, program managers, and sponsors.
What You’ll Need
Advanced proficiency in Siemens NX modeling, assemblies, drafting and Teamcenter.
Minimum of 10 years’ (preferably 15+ years’) experience in CAD design for complex mechanical systems.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in nuclear systems, fusion engineering, or high temperature materials systems is desirable.
Expertise in modeling complex surfaces.
Expertise in GD&T and engineering drawing standards.
Expertise in parametric modelling.
Desired - Experience with ultra‑high vacuum systems.
Desired - AA or BA in a related engineering or design field, or equivalent work experience.
