Position Summary The Creative Designer is a core contributor within Outform’s Creative team, focused on the design and development of retail displays, fixtures, and retail environmental elements. This is a hands‑on, execution‑oriented role that blends creative concept development with industrial design fundamentals and technical rigor. The role is intended for a mid-level designer, not a senior or managerial position. The Creative Designer supports concept development, visualization, and design execution while collaborating closely with Industrial Design, Engineering, Program Management, and Creative leadership to deliver manufacturable, retail‑ready solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Own creative development from ideation through concept refinement for retail displays, fixtures, and environmental elements across temporary, semi‑permanent, and permanent programs, within a defined project scope

Develop concept sketches, mood boards, and visual references to explore and communicate design direction

Translate brand guidelines and creative direction into physical retail solutions

Participate in ideation sessions and internal concept reviews with clear design rationale

Industrial Design and Technical Execution

Develop 3D CAD models and layouts for retail displays and fixtures using industry-standard tools

Support the creation of design intent documentation in collaboration with Engineering and Production teams

Apply working knowledge of materials, finishes, and manufacturing processes relevant to retail environments

Assist with value engineering by refining designs to meet cost, durability, and production requirements

Support sample builds, mock‑ups, and prototype reviews when required

Visualization and Presentation

Produce high-quality renderings and visualizations for internal reviews, client presentations, and proposals

Support the development of presentation decks that clearly communicate design intent and functionality

Present design concepts to clients, clearly articulating design intent and rationale

Incorporate feedback from Creative Directors and senior designers into revised design outputs

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Collaborate closely with Design, Engineering, and Program Management to ensure feasibility and alignment with project requirements

Support Sales and Strategy teams with visual assets for pitches and client discussions when needed

Participate in internal and client-facing meetings, leading portions of client discussions related to design execution with guidance from Creative leadership

Process and Professional Growth

Maintain organized working files, CAD models, and design assets

Stay informed on retail design trends, materials, fabrication techniques, and shopper behavior

Explore and apply emerging digital tools, including AI-assisted workflows, under Creative leadership guidance

Actively seek feedback and demonstrate ongoing growth in creative, technical, and execution capabilities

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, Product Design, Environmental Design, or a closely related field

Approximately 3 to 5 years of experience in retail display, fixture, experiential, or environmental design

Working proficiency in 3D CAD and visualization tools such as SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360, Cinema4D, KeyShot, or equivalent

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite

Foundational hand and digital sketching skills to communicate ideas effectively

Portfolio demonstrating retail displays, fixtures, POP, or physical brand experiences

Working understanding of materials, fabrication methods, and production considerations for retail environments

Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management

Clear communication skills and comfort receiving and applying feedback
