Job Summary
The Digital Media Producer creates high-quality visual content across multiple platforms to advance CSULB’s brand and storytelling objectives. This position supports the Division of University Relations & Development and campus-wide marketing, brand journalism, and promotional initiatives through the production of videos and photography for web, print, social media, and mobile platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Plans, directs, and produces video content for University Relations and Development (URD) and campus partners. Coordinates all phases of production, from concept development to final distribution, to create high-quality, accessible multimedia content for digital platforms.
Provides photography for the division and other campus partners. Capture people, places, and events for use across web, print, and digital platforms, ensuring high-quality images that align with university brand and visual standards.
Participates in emergency communications response.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficiency in video production, including pre- and post-production, knowledge of photography & studio equipment. Proficiency in current DSLR and mirrorless camera systems as well as studio lighting techniques. Advanced knowledge of Photoshop and Photo Mechanic. Advanced knowledge of Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro. Advanced knowledge of audio editing software. Thorough knowledge of production techniques, equipment and principles. Ability to develop, create, stage and/or produce professional-quality visuals and evaluate production effectiveness. Strong photographic capabilities, as well as photographic processing and manipulation skills. Skill in creating website graphics, including animations and photographs. Skill in creating audio and video streaming using streaming services. Ability to utilize multimedia technical and production management skills. Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills including flexibility, tact and diplomacy to work and communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, scientists and other professionals. Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university’s commitment to a “vision of excellence.”
Education and Experience
Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of related professional or technical experience in multimedia, video production and editing, and photography required.

Physical Summary Medium work – Job involves lifting heavy-weight objects (20-40 pounds) and/or 20% – 40% of the job involves standing, squatting, kneeling, or walking. May require pushing or pulling objects within the weight limits.
Licenses Valid CA driver’s license required.

Compensation Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources. CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,178 (Step 1) – $7,543 (Step #20) per month.
Time Base 1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
Duration of Appointment This is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
Benefits Excellent benefits through CalPERS (health, vision, dental), tuition fee waiver, generous vacation and sick leave, and 14 paid holidays each year.
