Role Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Developer (Contract)
As a highly experienced Email Developer specializing in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, you will join our team on a 12‑month contract to support our growing client portfolio. Your deep hands‑on experience building, coding, testing, and deploying complex email programs in enterprise environments will be essential. You will partner closely with Customer Success and Strategy teams to deliver scalable, high‑quality email solutions, writing clean, modular HTML, developing CSS styling, and implementing Salesforce Marketing Cloud–specific logic (dynamic content, personalization, data‑driven logic) within email templates. You will QA and test emails across platforms and devices, work directly with both internal teams and clients to ensure quality, accuracy, and performance, and support program implementation within Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including mock API calls, understanding data feeds, and ensuring programs handle edge cases and audience filtering correctly within automated journeys.
Responsibilities
Produce and maintain responsive email templates using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, primarily within Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
Implement SFMC‑specific features such as dynamic content, data‑driven logic, and personalization within templates.
Collaborate closely with email developers, Customer Success Managers, Technical Consultants, and Strategists to resolve issues and support deployments.
Participate in regular email stand‑ups to prioritize work and ensure timely delivery.
Work directly with client teams to field technical questions, respond to feedback, and collaborate on in‑progress builds.
Ensure emails comply with client brand standards, email marketing best practices, and CAN‑SPAM regulations.
QA and test email messages using tools such as Litmus and Email on Acid, ensuring cross‑client and cross‑device compatibility.
Minimum Requirements
5+ years of professional email production and development experience.
Extensive, hands‑on Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience (required).
Strong mastery of HTML and CSS specific to email development.
Proficiency with JSON.
Working knowledge of APIs, including how they function and how to make GET and POST requests.
Solid understanding of data feeds and how data is used within marketing platforms.
Strong grasp of responsive email code structures and cross‑device rendering considerations.
Clear, professional communication skills, including direct client communication around testing, QA, and updates.
Ability to receive feedback, clarify requirements, and iterate on work as needed.
The Ideal Candidate Has
Strong experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud scripting, including AMPScript and Server‑Side JavaScript (SSJS).
Hands‑on experience implementing dynamic content, personalization logic, and data extensions within SFMC.
