Video Producer (3 Months)
Location: Chicago, IL
Schedule: Onsite for first 2 weeks, then hybrid (2 days in Chicago office)
Start Date: Mid-January
Our hospital client is seeking an experienced Video Producer to join their team for a 3-month contract covering a maternity leave. This role is ideal for a creative professional with strong production skills and a passion for storytelling in healthcare and higher education environments.
About the Role As a Video Producer, you will manage projects from pre-production through post-production, ensuring high-quality video content that aligns with established branding and editorial standards. You'll collaborate with internal teams, media relations, and external partners to produce compelling stories for internal and external audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate all phases of video production: pre-production, production, and post-production
Develop scripts from interview transcripts, pulling sound bites to craft engaging narratives
Plan and manage projects using Microsoft Teams; organize news stories and video initiatives
Maintain branding, graphic identity, and editorial standards across all content
Oversee pre-production processes: intake, strategy development, scripting, storyboarding, and location scouting
Determine production needs for events, interviews, patient care scenarios, and internal communications
Collaborate with campus partners to enhance interactive experiences through media
Serve as the first point of contact for video requests; advise on best delivery methods
Manage schedules and timelines for multiple video projects simultaneously
Conduct interviews, style subjects, and set up shots during production
Work with editors to review and finalize video content; occasionally edit using Adobe Premiere Pro
Maintain and improve systems for archiving and tagging video assets for future use
Coordinate videographers and photographers for assignments
Develop processes for time-sensitive productions intended for public and news dissemination
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Video Producer, with a strong portfolio showcasing video and photography direction
Background in healthcare, medical, higher education, or news media content is a plus
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to work with diverse stakeholders
Proficiency in Microsoft Teams for project management; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro) preferred
Knowledge of Trello or similar project planning tools is a bonus
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data, including medical data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment. Additionally, drug products may be present in the workplace.
