job summary:
A Designer is needed for a utility holding company in the Eau Claire, WI area. This role involves designing and managing electric distribution projects by preparing technical drawings and models using GIS tools, performing field assessments, and collaborating with internal teams and customers to meet utility project needs.

responsibilities:
Create, update, and revise sketches, working drawings, and contract documents using SmallWorld GIS or manual drafting.
Prepare 2D and 3D models based on customer and project requirements.
Interpret and work from customer requirements, data sheets, and supplier specifications.
Utilize information from engineering, architectural, or technical services staff.
Check SAP system for new customer projects.
Perform field assessments or conduct design work using computer systems.
Design and manage electric distribution projects for both new and existing customers.
Interact with customers and manage projects from design through delivery.
Combination of independent and collaborative work. Skills:
strong verbal and written communication.
Organizational and project management abilities.
Basic electrical knowledge.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
GIS or AutoCAD experience preferred but not required. Desired Skills:
GIS or AutoCAD.
Electrical/utility knowledge or hands-on field experience. Education and Experience:
No formal degree required.
Backgrounds in construction, utilities, call centers, or public service are acceptable.
Experience in electrical or utility environments is a plus. #LI-SJ1
