We are seeking an
Underground Locator
to join our team in
San Antonio, TX . This role operates drilling equipment to complete assigned projects and perform drilling in both standard and high‑risk areas with live utilities.

Responsibilities
Operate drilling equipment to complete assigned projects
Complete drilling in standard and high‑risk areas with live utilities
Maintain a working knowledge of utility depths and placements
Ensure vehicles, equipment, and tools are properly maintained and secured safely
Review field designs and communicate discrepancies to supervisors for change orders
Properly document all work, including pothole and bore logs
Perform conduit splicing, vault/pedestal placement, and fiber/coax placement as needed
Complete general restoration and cleanup
Adhere to safety as the top priority, complying with internal standards and all government orders
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
3+ years of underground drilling and trenching experience
Telecommunications construction experience a plus
Ability to travel daily and work outside of standard business hours, including overtime, holidays, evenings, and weekends in all seasons
Excellent customer service, time‑management, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills
High energy, motivation, and attention to detail
Ability to multitask and shift between tasks without interruption
Ability to tolerate moderate to loud noise levels
Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs as needed
Ability to work outdoors in tight spaces or elevated positions, bending, reaching, twisting, and climbing in all weather conditions year‑round
Ability to safely work and navigate diverse terrains while managing equipment, safety gear, and tools
Must provide a valid government‑issued photo ID; a driver’s license is required if the role involves driving
Class A CDL preferred
Passing of all pre‑employment requirements (MVR, background check, drug screen)
