Leather Goods / Handbag Designer
Essential Duties
Research fashion trends, materials, colors, and hardware to inspire and inform designs.
Present Senior Director of Accessories Design with design options that align with seasonal direction.
Sketch and help develop seasonal handbag collections aligned with brand identity and market trends.
Prepare presentation decks with references and CADs for Senior Director to review.
Create and pass detailed sketches, CADs, and tech packs for development.
Collaborate with product development and technical design teams to ensure accurate execution of design intent.
Attend sample reviews to ensure consistency and quality.
Review prototypes and samples to ensure all comments are passed to Product Development in a timely manner.
Daily communication with Creative Product Development Manager and PD team to support with all details are implemented during the development process.
Juggle multiple collections and projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
Prepare tech packs ahead of launch deadline.
Communicate daily updates in your category to the Senior Director, Accessories Design.
Work collaboratively with Merchandising and Production teams.
Prerequisite Skills, Knowledge, And Education
Minimum of 3-5+ years in Handbag or Leather Accessories design experience.
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Strong sketching and rendering skills, both by hand and digitally.
Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and collaborative skills.
Solid knowledge of handbag materials, construction, and hardware.
Understanding of technical specs, construction, and materials.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Able to prioritize and manage time.
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Accessories Design, or equivalent experience.
Salary $90,000
