Visiting NTT Assistant Professor of Professional Writing, Focus in Editing and Publishing Full‑Time, 9‑Month, Non‑Tenure Track (Potential 1‑Year Renewal)

Position: Visiting NTT Assistant Professor of Professional Writing with a specialization in Editing and Publishing, beginning August 2026.

Location: University of Indianapolis, Shaheen College of Arts and Sciences, English Department.

Faculty Responsibilities:

Teach a 24‑credit load across undergraduate and graduate courses, including book editing and publishing, instructional design, professional writing, and first‑year writing courses.

Contribute to departmental and university service.

Maintain an active scholarly and/or professional agenda.

Assist with departmental academic planning, curriculum development, or committee service as needed.

Essential Functions:

Follow guidance and direction of supervisors.

Demonstrate respectful, ethical, responsible behavior.

Abide by University policies, procedures, and rules.

Perform employee responsibilities as detailed in handbooks and policies.

Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.

Other duties, including special projects, as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

Terminal degree in English (Ph.D. or MFA) or related field.

Completed at least 18 credit hours of graduate‑level English courses.

Graduate training in editing and publishing.

Successful teaching record.

Expertise in instructional design and editorial/publishing practices.
