Job Title: Associate Director, External Communications - Americas
Duration: 8 Months
Location: Remote – Comfortable with EST hours
Overview Report into the Head of Communications, and work closely with key US/Americas leaders and stakeholders to support our media relations and external comms efforts for the business.
Key day‑to‑day activities include:
Draft press releases and key index announcements to support the business, working closely with legal and compliance counterparts
Media monitoring and sharing of key news stories
Crisis and issues communications support
Play a critical role in our global day‑to‑day press office activity, including responding to key financial and markets reporters in a timely manner
Thought leadership and research distribution with key reporters
Advise senior leaders and stakeholders on critical comms issues
Support across index rebalance communications
Educate reporters on client’s index methodologies and approach
Contribute to internal communications initiatives where appropriate
Qualifications
At least 8 years of communications experience, with significant focus on external communications, preferably in the financial services/markets industry
Exceptional writer
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to easily build relationships and inspire trust and confidence from senior leaders
Experience working globally in a large multinational, matrixed organization or agency environment
Creativity and willingness to try new communications formats and push the boundaries
Eagerness to explore content creation tools
Ability to develop KPIs to measure success and use data and insights to inform communications decisions, influence stakeholders and demonstrate results
Effective management of priorities and level of service to our stakeholders
Execution to the highest of standards, with strong attention to detail and deadlines
Bachelor’s or equivalent university degree
