The Role Shape the future of interior design at AvalonBay. We’re looking for a talented Senior Interior Designer to lead in‑house design for our new development and renovation projects. From concept through construction, you’ll ensure every space reflects our commitment to quality, innovation, and functionality.

What You’ll Do

Lead design for in‑house projects, including new developments and renovations (Capital Projects and Capital Improvements).

Drive all phases of design: schematic design, design development, construction documentation, furniture specification, and construction administration.

Manage design processes to meet project schedules and budgets.

Prepare and review construction documentation; oversee construction administration and design execution.

Select commercial‑grade furniture and manage procurement processes.

Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to deliver exceptional results.

What We’re Looking For

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or Interior Design.

Experience: 8–12 years in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.

Expertise: All phases of interior design, strong technical knowledge, and excellent communication skills.

Tools: Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office.

Certifications: NCIDQ required; LEED accreditation preferred.

Knowledge: Commercial codes and ADA regulations.

Other: Occasional U.S. travel.
